News & EventsPillar in the Community: Work experience students at Pillar

Pillar continues to support the local Illawarra community by hosting 6 work experience students from the University of Wollongong in their Employment Experience Program. These students spent their 4-week semester break at Pillar gaining work experience relevant to their fields of study.

Selection of comments from the students

James Brescia

“During my time on work experience in Pillar’s HR Department, I’ve had the chance to practically apply university learning and previous experience within a practical and relevant environment, which to me was invaluable.”
Claudia Cerroni

“My experience at Pillar has shown me a perspective of work after study and has made me aware of my own career development.”
Amy Kuang

“This work experience has definitely made me realise that I want to pursue a career in HR…..  I really appreciated the fact that I was given ‘real’ jobs to do and it felt as though the tasks I was doing mattered and that I was contributing to the success and accomplishments of the team.”
