Continuing on from our initiative last year, Pillar sent out Christmas e-cards instead of paper cards to our clients and suppliers. The savings achieved from this environmentally responsible action were donated to Para Meadows School in North Wollongong, a special school for children with disabilities. The school was able to purchase several voice output devices and step-by-step communicators for the children to use. |

For the FSS Member Services team, Christmas literally went to the dogs! This innovative team took the Secret Santa concept a step further – instead of buying Secret Santa presents for each other, team members made a donation and nominated a chosen charity. The names of the charities were put into a hat and the lucky charity drawn was the RSPCA. |

Pillar CEO, Peter Beck today presented a cheque for $1,500 to the Wollongong Hospital Children’s Ward. In presenting the cheque to Julie Haines, Clinical Nurse Specialist at the hospital, Peter said “Christmas is a time for giving and a particularly special time for children. We decided that instead of buying and posting paper Christmas cards this year, we would design and send our own e-cards and donate the savings to the Children’s Ward at Wollongong Hospital. This initiative also best reflects Pillar’s sustainability objectives.” |
